Big Salmon & Yukon Rivers – 12 days

Big Salmon and Yukon Rivers – Quiet Lake to Little Salmon Village
By Canoe – 12 days / 11 nights – fully guided
Suitable for the intermediate paddler

12 days itinerary includes the arrival and departure days

This is an exceptional, exciting wilderness trip for the intermediate paddler. Some canoeing skills are required as the trip, particularly in the upper reaches of the Big Salmon River require navigating tight turns in fast water with sweepers and log jams.  There is one short portage on day 3.

On day one your arrival day,  we provide airport service and transfer to your hotel (provided) for a meeting with your guide/s and fellow adventurers. Gear is checked and last minute purchases and adjustments can be made. You are also provided with a personal waterproof  115L dry-bag to keep your personal belongings safe and dry during the canoe trip.

The adventure starts on day 2 with a road trip of approximately 156mi/250km via the Alaska Highway and the South Canol Road to Quiet Lake. Nestled in the Big Salmon Range of the Pelly Mountains, Quiet, Sandy and Big Salmon Lakes make up the headwaters of the Big Salmon River. Our first camp is in the upper lakes and we start into the swift waters of the river on Day 3.dsc00688big-salmon-6
