SHORT DISCOVERY TRIP PACKAGES – Unguided
While in Whitehorse join us for an adventure trip on the world-famous Yukon River – an unforgettable wilderness experience. Launch yourself into nature at your own pace, in your own time. Use a canoe or kayak, pack a lunch and enjoy an afternoon or a day in our natural surroundings. All of the trips below include the transportation to and from our downtown riverfront location.* The equipment includes a two-person canoe or kayak, 2 PFDs, paddles, bailer, bowline and rescue throw rope. All of the trips below have a two-person minimum.
The trips below are considered doable for persons with basic canoeing skills. If you are not into doing a canoe trip on your own – see the fully guided trips listed under our guided trips directory.
Trip No C1 – Yukon River – 4 hours – $95.00 per person
downtown Whitehorse to the Takhini River confluence – 15mi/24km
daily departures at 10:00 and 11:30
pick up at the Takhini River at a set time*
Trip No C2 – Yukon River – 2-3 hrs – $155.00 per person
Miles Canyon – Schwatka Lake – 5mi/8km
daily departures before 1:00 P.M
pick up at Schwatka Lake at a set time*
Trip No C4 – Yukon River – 6 hours – $165.00 per person
Marsh Lake to Schwatka Lake – 30mi/46km
Daily departures before 11:00 AM
Pick up at Schwatka Lake at a set time*
Trip No C6 -Yukon River – 5 hrs – $125.00 per person
For those that want to spend more than a half-day on the river or perhaps spend the time for a picnic lunch on one of the islands below the Takhini River confluence. Pick-up up point is at the foot of Burma Road about 4mi/6.4km downstream of the Takhini River.*
*There is a minimum ‘wait’ charge of $50.00 if you are not at the destination at the appointed time.
